Joan Miró

Joan Miró, the colour of dreams is a CD-ROM Mac/PC with an extensive audiovisual and textual collection about the work, life, personality and environment of one of the most outstanding painters in the 20th century.

It contains approximately 800 images of Miró's works and other pictures, 60 minutes of animation, 12 games related to his paintings, 10 minutes of original music, 200 minutes of narration and the equivalent of nearly 2,000 pages of text in four languages (English, French, Spanish and Catalan).

It can be used interactively in a variety of ways: by exploring scenes and discovering animations and videos with the painter's own words, searching directly in a multipurpose index, using the chronology of his life, or by means of a hypertext.  In general, it enables the user to view and study the work of Joan Miró, and to gain insight into his experience as a painter and as a person.

Joan Miró is a CD-ROM produced by the Audiovisual Institute, directed by Rosa Maria Malet and Xavier Berenguer and edited (1998) by the Pompeu Fabra University, the Joan Miró Foundation and the Club d'Investissement MEDIA of the European Union. During 2002, a second edition was published by Barcelona Multimedia; this version may be purchased here.

It received the Spanish Möbius 1998 award (cultural category) and the first prize at the III Concurso de Autores Multimedia (SGAE/Fundación Autor, 1998).

Joan Miró is aimed at everyone who loves the colours and the dreams of this great Catalan artist.
